Lee's publishing background began in 2001 when he worked as an advertising account manager for Trout Fisherman and Trout & Salmon magazines. In 2003 he moved across to Max Power magazine, where he stayed a further 18 months before joining DHP in August 2004. Tackle & Guns was an entirely new challenge for Lee, having only previously worked on consumer titles.

Dealing solely with the shooting industry meant he had to get to know about an entirely new pastime very quickly. Lee was soon impressed by the people in the business, discovering that everyone seems to know everyone else, and finding them welcoming and happy to help.
